What is Sculptra™?

Sculptra™ is an injectable treatment that works to replace lost facial volume caused by the natural ageing process. As part of this process, our skin becomes thinner and damaged losing its firmness and elasticity as the body’s rate of collagen production slows down. Added to this, fat, which helps to fill out the face, eventually diminishes, causing the skin to sag and wrinkle.

Made by one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies, sanofi-aventis, Sculptra treatments are only performed by fully trained medical professionals.

How does it work & what can I expect?

Sculptra™ stimulates the body’s own collagen. Unlike a filler (which plumps out the line) Sculptra’s main ingredient, poly-L-lactic acid, works from deep within the skin’s layers to correct the underlying problem that causes the line or wrinkle. Sculptra™ works by stimulating the body’s own natural production of collagen to create a fuller, younger looking face that can last for more than three years.

Depending upon your individual treatment we may use up to four vials of Sculptra™, injected over a period of time. Usually two vials are used for your first treatment and then one at your follow up treatment. A small needle is placed just under the skin line.

Initial results can be seen within six weeks, and at six months after the first treatment, you would normally achieve 70/80% of your final result, which can then last for up to 3 ½ years*.

It is normal to experience some post-treatment discomfort, such as redness, swelling, pain, itching, bruising or tenderness at the treatment site. This typically subsides after a few days but sometimes can last for longer.

How can I book an appointment & what happens?

We advise an initial face-to face consultation lasting approx 20 minutes where we will discuss your wishes and plan your treatment.

A treatment can then be booked – your treatment will take approx. 1 ¼ hours

You can choose to have the consultation and treatment separately or of course, book them together to save time!
